Picture

On July 15, 2019 Gregory Osborne, DDS was certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM). This comes as the culmination of over 30 years of experience in sleep medicine and helping patients with airway problems.
Dental sleep medicine encompasses the clinical treatment of patients with sleep-related breathing disorders through utilization of oral appliance therapy, the promotion of long-term management of patients with sleep-related breathing disorders, and the scientific investigation of topics related to dental sleep medicine.
The ABDSM Diplomate status is the gold standard in dental sleep medicine demonstrating that a dentist has the technical skill, in-depth knowledge and professional judgment to provide optimal oral appliance therapy care.

If you have sleep apnea but hate your CPAP machine, you’re not alone. Some studies estimate that as many as 50 percent of folks using CPAP therapy don’t like the treatment, while other studies show that up to half of the people using CPAP machines stop using them within just a few weeks. At Sleep Easy Dentistry, we are proud to provide a CPAP alternative to patients throughout San Antonio.

What is a CPAP Machine?
A continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine treats sleep apnea by providing a constant stream of air designed to keep your airway open while you sleep. This allows those with sleep apnea to breathe normally throughout the night, instead of gasping for air, choking, or interrupted breathing. While CPAP machines work well for some, others can’t tolerate wearing the machine while sleeping.

A CPAP Alternative
We are proud to offer an alternative treatment to those with sleep apnea. We create customized oral appliances, known as mandibular advancement devices, that gently shift the position of your jaw while you sleep and allow you to breathe easily. Oral appliance therapy allows you to get the good night’s sleep you deserve without the inconvenience and discomfort of wearing a CPAP machine.

Individual Treatment = Best Results
Our team does not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Instead, we carry a wide variety of customizable oral appliances so we can tailor treatment to your individual condition. We consider factors like your age, the severity of your condition, your oral anatomy, and many more to chose the oral appliance that will deliver the best results.

At Sleep Easy, you’re in good hands: Dr. Osborne has over 30 years of sleep medicine experience and is a certified diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. To ask our team any questions or to schedule your free consultation, call us today!

I like how you mentioned that your airways could help function better by using CPAP machines. My cousin who is a nurse told me a few nights ago that they are hoping to find CPAP machines for their clinic for emergency supplies. He asked if I had any idea what would be the best option to consider. I appreciate this helpful article, I'll tell him he can consult a trusted CPAP machine company as they can provide more information about the supplies they offer.
